Early on the day after Sabbath,
two women approached the silent tomb,
hearts pounding with hope and trembling,
armed guards felled by the angel,
for Jesus, they said, was no longer inside.
He had risen from the dead,
a miracle for all mankind.
With awe, they sang,
yes it is true!
The promise revealed before their very eyes.
"Praise God!" they exclaimed,
"Praise Jesus!" they sang,
embracing the dawn of new life,
off to celebrate His resurrection,
forevermore, we lift our voices,
in gratitude and joy, we praise.
